USSSA Hall of Fame Class of 2016

Kissimmee, FL- January 16, 2016- The United States Specialty Sports Association hosted their 48th Annual National Meeting in California this past November. This week-long convention brings together the vast community of USSSA from all parts of the nation to not only celebrate but assess the direction of USSSA in the new year and beyond.

From several meetings and workshops this grand event ends with a regal Hall of Fame ceremony that honors elite USSSA members that have greatly impacted USSSA over the years.

With the first formal Hall of Fame Induction ceremony in 1979, the tradition continued this November at the 48th Annual Meeting in Temecula, California. During the 2015 “Celebration of Excellence” eight more honorees were inducted into the USSSA Hall of Fame.

The USSSA Hall of Fame class of 2015 featured Caitlin Lowe, Lisa Marie Sanchez, Wendell Rickard, Bryson Baker, Wayne Williamson, Jeff Dorricott, Bert Frederick, and Roger Wilson. Their legacy will forever be remembered in the USSSA Hall of Fame and Museum but with every year comes a new Hall of Fame class.

The USSSA Hall of Fame Class of 2016 includes ten newly elected honorees who will be inducted into the USSSA Hall of Fame later this year. Elected by the current USSSA Board of Directors, these inductees will be joining a group of esteemed individuals that to date includes around 200 honored members that have shaped the course of USSSA.

Among those elected include Pat Ryan, Don DeDonatis III, BJ Fulk, Shaun Marcum, Doug Reed, Cat Osterman, Billy Lee Yarbrough, Jerry Backman, Herb Price and Elliot “Butch” Parnes.

The formal Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place during the USSSA 49th Annual National Convention on November 18, 2016. USSSA will be hosting the annual meeting back on the east coast in Fort Myers, FL off the coast at Sanibel Harbour Marriot Resort.
