USSSA Basketball to Host Midwest Regional Championship in Salina, Kansas June 1-3, 2018

VIERA, FLORIDA - The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) announced today that it will host its USSSA Basketball Midwest Regional Championship in Salina, Kansas June 1st through 3rd. The event’s official name, the Midwest Crossroads Regional Championship, reflects the event’s central location and ability to draw teams from up to eight nearby states. The scope of this tournament will afford teams from throughout the region a chance to face new competition, along with the chance to qualify for the 2018 USSSA National Basketball Championships, June 30th through July 3rd, 2018, in beautiful Orlando, Florida.

The 2018 Midwest Crossroads Regional Championship is slated to host Boys and Girls teams from grades 3-12. The format of the event will give teams a guaranteed three games and provide divisional competition for elite, division 2, division 3, and recreational level teams.  Team registration for the event is $250 and registration ends Thursday, May 24th.

Visit Salina and the Salina Parks & Recreation Department have partnered with USSSA Basketball to bring this Championship event to Salina, Kansas. The Championship will be hosted in the newly constructed high-tech six-court Salina Fieldhouse facility, which is a perfect venue to provide all event participants and patrons a uniquely upper echelon basketball experience. Beyond the Fieldhouse, the city of Salina boasts scores of restaurants, affordable lodging, and famed Midwest tourist destinations like the Smoky Hill Museum and Rolling Hills Zoo.

The six courts at the Salina Fieldhouse will host round-the-clock basketball action, eliminating any travel or logistical concerns for teams, coaches, and parents. In addition to Championship basketball tournament play, the Salina Fieldhouse will also be site of an Opening Ceremony, Stretch & Recovery Stations, Live Gameplay Monitors, and a Highlight Video Station.

For the first time, USSSA Basketball will be bringing their renowned Championship Rings to the Midwest! One of the greatest successes of last year’s USSSA Championship Series was the introduction of high quality Championship Rings for the winning teams. This will be the first time since the introduction of these Championship Rings, that a USSSA Midwest event will feature them.
