Frequently Asked Questions
The Select30 Program
What is the Select30 Program?
The Select30 program is the most comprehensive player identification program in the country. The S30 is managed by the Select30 Task Force which is comprised of former professional players, current and former college coaches, current and former scouts, and baseball industry experts. Throughout the season, during the course of the Select30 Super NIT Series hosted across the country, the Select30 Task Force will evaluate players on the 5 tools of baseball during ‘live’ game situations to identify the S30 Championships Prospects. Chosen players will be issued a ‘Golden Ticket’ from a Select30 Task Force representative officially inviting them to participate in the S30 Championships July 22 - 29, 2018 at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida. Players participating in the 9U - 12U divisions will attend July 22 - 25 with Top Prospect Games on July 26. Players participating in the 13U & 14U divisions will attend July 25 - 28 with Top Prospect Games on July 29.
To assist with the player identification efforts, Team Managers participating in the Major divisions of 9U - 14U will be able to place their top players onto the ‘Watch List’ prior to each event. The Select30 Task Force will take the ‘Watch List’ into consideration when identifying players for the Select30 Program, however the ‘Watch List’ does not automatically qualify a player for the Select30 Program or inhibit a player not on the list from being selected to participate.
What are the S30 Championships?
At the S30 Championships, players will go through daily workouts administered by the Select30 Task Force and former Professional Players. This formal instruction will include position specific fundamental work centered around infield, outfield, pitching, and hitting with the center focus being on quality and understanding the ‘why’ behind everything the athlete is doing. In addition to the fundamental work each morning, participants will also play scouted instructional games each afternoon. At the conclusion of the workouts and games, former Professional Players along with the Select30 Task Force will choose two 15 player teams in each age division to play in the S30 Top Prospect Games on either July 26 (9U - 12U) or July 29 (13U &14U).
Does my child need an invite or is it open to all players?
There are no open ‘Tryouts’ for the S30 Program. Evaluations of individuals only take place during the Select30 Super NIT’s hosted across the country. The evaluations at these Events are free and are considered as part of the Teams’ participation in the Major divisions of 9U – 14U at the Select30 Super NIT. Chosen players will be approached by our Task Force representatives at the fields and issued a ‘Golden Ticket’ officially inviting them to participate in the S30 Championships at their respective age level. Only players issued Golden Tickets by our Task Force Representatives are eligible to register for the S30 Championship.
Who will evaluate participants?
The S30 is managed by the Select30 Task Force, which is comprised of former professional players, current and former college coaches, current and former scouts, and baseball industry experts.
Who will select the S30 Championship Teams?
